Well, we didn’t get to claim the Pac-12 regular season title in men’s or women’s basketball. Fear not Bear fans! A second chance at achieving a feat of greatness is exactly what the Pacific Life Pac-12 Basketball Tournament is allowing for the California Golden Bears. Tonight, Thursday (3/8) Cal men’s and women’s basketball teams are suiting up, lacing their kicks and hitting the court to avenge their regular season endings and begin their march to the madness.
The Lakers and Clippers have left the locker rooms in LA, in order to allow the Cal men’s team to take control of the STAPLES Center in a matchup against no. 7 seed Stanford tonight at 6 p.m. PT (can be watched live on FSN). Last night, Stanford defeated no. 10 seed Arizona Sate 85-65. Cardinal player Chasson Randle, who gave the Bears a difficult time in their last contest, went off against the Sun Devils with 30 points. Tonight, the Bears will need to cut down their turnovers, lock up Randle, play confident, stay focused, get contributions from the bench, and well… WIN.
The Cal women’s team will be competing at the Galen Center tonight against no. 10 seed Colorado. Last night the Buffaloes beat the Utah Utes 55-41. Colorado’s guard, Brittany Wilson, racked up 21 points. Gear up for a great night of California Golden Bear basketball, Hollywood style! Hopefully longevity and greatly anticipated prolonged seasons are in the making for our Cal hoopers.
